THE thug responsible for the vicious bashing of a 91-year-old great-grandmother Rachael Williams will not face murder charges following her death.

Is that fair?

Ummm. Touchy, I know, but under the law you are guilty of the ‘act’ not the ‘consequences’.

This often arises where a driver is ‘careless’ and, because of lack of attention, has an accident that kills someone. The act is carelessness not manslaughter or murder.

I have no sympathy for the thug but the law needs to be changed to provide more protection for victims such that an assault on a frail 91-year-old can be construed as attempted murder!

Anyone who attacks a 91 year old woman in her own home deserves to rot in hell. To the scum that bashed her, you will get your just deserts in hell.

No she would have died anyhow sometime soon because of her age. However I can imagine he will still be charged with battery and go to jail for a long time…let’s face it, murderers only get 15 years don’t though…..and yet tax fraud brings three years so how does that equate…..Seven years for killing a child? Who understands the Law?
